Unsourced group exhibitions moved from article edit

your clean up looks like vandalism. You've also erased the SOLO EXH. without to check anything i can confirm that 75% of the formerly available entries on the list of the SOLO EXH. are well known. what was that all about? Instead of deleting everything, you'd have better searched the missing sources via google. anyway, it is now your articel. you are the best RH expert and the best cleaner of entries which are unknown (by you). I have to jump out. --Pseudonym1409 (talk) 01:24, 1 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

@Pseudonym1409: I removed the private galleries as private galleries, rather than public institutions, are less notable. I and others have done the same for other articles on artists. Also, none of them had a source. It is better to list only exhibitions at notable venues. -Lopifalko (talk) 08:42, 1 June 2019 (UTC)Reply

Solo exhibition - 2014 October–December, Nicolas Hugo Gallery, Paris, France - forged signatures and certificates edit

This gallery in Paris has sold photos with forged signatures, numbers and certificates of authenticity. It wasn't just a single photo that was affected, but many. so it should be interesting for everyone. Ren Hang has published this note on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/BEVtsi4rY9a/?hl=en I have already seen that some of these photos has been offered on eBay. How can we add a note of this unusual incident? The buyers and collectors should be aware of it. Thank you --Pseudonym1409 (talk) 10:01, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Wikipedia is not a resource for making "buyers and collectors ... aware of it". If it is notable in the life and work of Ren, then it can be included. Judging that notability rests on whether independent reliable sources have given it attention. Ren's Instagram is not that. -Lopifalko (talk) 10:22, 31 May 2019 (UTC)Reply
As a consequence, Nicolas Hugo's Gallery closed after that. He is out of the art market. Everyone in the trade has realised that. Why are you unaware of this fact and at the same time you are the judge of the content of this article with your diminished expertise? That must be a bad joke. Movies edit

Our Lopifalko once again: All bar one of these are not movies and their sources are inadmissable as evidence of such. Means he deleted most of it.
ANd yes he has forgotten that all of it was not a "ref", bc it was a link to the video.

And yes he is right bc e.g. to link to a movie from Ostlicht - the most famous gallery in Austria - is stupid.
Just as a reminder so that no one will ever be tempted again.

  • 2019, Exhibition Love, Ren Hang, Paris[1]
  • 2017, ZHANG Ximing, I've got a Little Problem, Documentary, 44 min, IMDb[2]
    Trailer 1,[3] Trailer 2,[4]
  • 2016, THE FREI GROUP, Getting close to REN HANG[5]
  • 2015, OstLicht Gallery, Vienna, Ren Hang Interview[6]
  • 2014, VICE MEDIA, REN HANG Shooting for VICE[7]
  • 2012, Mocamomo, Ren Hang, A COLLECTION OF ART INSPIRED PRODUCTS, ARTIST 5 of 8[8]

BTW: A trailer is not a ref like [1] - it's just a link to a trailer.

On the other hand, it is allowed e.g. to write about Bakelite, but it's forbidden to write even a single sentence about restoration possibilities. So people can learn what's available from Wikipedia, but they can never expect Wikipedia to tell them how to preserve a historical material. That is still the best decision. In fact, Wikipedia lets you know what used to exist, but how you should deal with it, Wikipedia will forever keep you in the dark. Perfect consequence.
