Local loop edit
Is local loop defined as the point to which the signal goes digital or is it the entire line between the POTS telephone and the Central Office? Serving area interface edit
It seems like a remote concentrator and a serving area interface are really the same thing. Is this correct? If so, that page should be merged to this article. If not, what is the difference? —radiojon 04:42, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- I believe the serving area interface is just a cross-connection point between the cables that come from the CO and the cables that go to the customers. - Right, whoever you are. SAI is a box that always has a cross connection point, and sometimes may have a RC. A post office may often have a scale for weighing mail, but a post office is not a scale or vice versa. —Jim.henderson 15:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
