Talk:Remittitur

I think this article could benefit from discussion of the continuing legal controversies over remittitur. For example, what happens if an appeals judges continually exercise remittitur only to have juries at the district level continue to create unfavorable decisions? Also, I think a discussion of the constitutional basis of remittitur (if any exists) would be beneficial as well. Jeisenstat15 (talk) 01:48, 3 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Tenenbaum Not Remittitur

edit

Hmm. The US Supreme Court ruled that the judge in the Tenenbaum case did NOT use remittitur, and if he had, the Supreme Court couldn't have any input in the decision. So I'm confused if this is a case of remittitur or not. It seems not. Danpetitpas (talk) 15:39, 21 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
