East asian Religion

For some reason westerners keep hallucinating that you are 1 religion, despite that being the way it works in the west that is not the way it works in East Asia and especially Taiwan. Nobody in taiwan is JUST a Taoist, they always practice in combination with Buddhism and Chinese Folk Religion. People are combinations of religions, besides the christians, so I ask whoever manages this wiki article to takenot of that and insert another chart with all thee religions included as one group along with the cart that is currently there.

Mention of Tolerance

"Christian churches exist on the Republic of China (Taiwan) due to the tolerant nature of the government." Is this the right place to say the government is tolerant? Why here rather than section on Islam? Shouldn't the mention of tolerance be in a main section somewhere rather than here? Also, the existence of churches hardly seems due to tolerance when you consider that President Lee and President Chiang both professed to be Christians. Readin (talk) 18:01, 23 January 2008 (UTC)

Taoism Section

I'd like, if possible, an independent treatment of Daoism on Taiwan, given the same attention independent from Chinese Popular Religion that Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, etc. receive. Does anyone have access to statistical data regarding lineages that came over during early settlement, vs. lineages that arrived with the KMT? It's clear that "self identification" polls mean diddly in the Sinosphere, based as they are on typically shoddy anthropology which can't separate Folk Belief from the Teachings. Has any work been done on real numbers for Daoist initiates on Taiwan? Other bits that ought to go in the section include arrival of the Tianshi hierarchy, black/red heads, sect divisions and numbers, etc. I'll guess I will put it together myself, but I'll throw this out there for a while in the hope someone has a sociological background on this. --WuShufei (talk) 08:08, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

What should we include here

This article makes the assumpion that Scientology and the Unification Church are religions this is highly debatable - PheonixUK

I think we can get those religions with <1% followers off the list. They can be mentioned elsewhere by a single sentence. Also, we really need some statistics on atheists, agnosticists, and non-religious people. Yel D'ohan (talk) 18:21, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Rantings by Iron_Jackal_TW

Oh yeah, Taiwanese people (台灣人) worship Science, Technology, Liberal education (Freethinking), Physical fitness, Sport with Taiwanese like Chien-Ming Wang, Firearm, and good Music like Heavy metal!!

That's mind (Freethinking), body, and soul.... right there, baby!!

Iron_Jackal_TW

Go ahead, Christian bigots and Han Feng shui bigots... keep deleting my Freethinking stuffs! It is low-life control freaks such as you bastards that are keeping Taiwan from reaching our full potential!

Iron_Jackal_TW

This is what Christianity will do to weak and retarded people...

Iron_Jackal_TW

This is what GAY Feng shui brings to our Asian world...

Oh yeah, a freaking hole in the buildings with no purpose what-so-ever and another hole on the ground in Taiwan! Isn't that the old-style hole-in-ground toilets we used to have in Taiwan... haha... very creative there!

President Chiang and President Lee only say that they are Christians to please the WESTERN POWERS and SUPPORTERS of Taiwan, which these Western Nations all have a rather bias lean toward Christianity in general!!

Well, I do 100% SUPPORT this....

However, I have a bias lean toward Warrior Buddhism as long as they are in line with this....

At least, that's how it used to be with Warrior Buddhism in the OLD DAYS! However, Warrior Buddhism is really going the WAY of Dodo now a day because it no longer adapt to the Modern Martial Methods with Firearms and so on!!

BTW, Wiki are full of QUEER ARSE-KISSING PEOPLE that HATED my VIEW of either (Warrior) Free Thinkers or Warrior Buddhism, which is why I have to post here as well!!
