Currently the 2007 census conducted by the Ethiopian government is the only reliable source available on population figures in Ethiopia. Though a bit dated, it should still provide the correct proportions in terms of percentages, and needs to be used until the next census figures become available. A census had been scheduled for 2019, but had to be called off, but I think in a few more years we should have more current figures. Your assumptions regarding the total population based on figures from the various regions is original research and therefore not permissible as a source in Wikipedia. Everybody wants his religion to show up as the greatest and most populous, and therefore we would get into constant edit wars if we did not follow the policy of only using reliable sources.
