I feel the page was tagged in error edit

I noticed that the page was recently tagged by one of our most prolific reviewers for possibly not being notable. However, I feel this was done in error because the international coverage clearly means that it meets WP:NORG. Scorpions13256 (talk) 20:42, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply

If this didn't include a high school, the spirit of WP:ONEEVENT might apply. Yes, I know ONEEVENT is for people not organizations, that's why I said the "spirit."
What might help support this school is if it has enough ongoing press not related to this event that you can argue that it's at least as notable as other schools with a similar "high school size" - which I'm guessing is in the 200-400 student range - and a similar age - 35-40 years of history. If it receives typical news coverage for the 10 varsity sports[1] that its students participate in, this is entirely possible. If it's teams have won state-level championships, this is even more likely.
Having said that, "routine press" will carry a lot less weight than "non-routine press." Some news outlets "routinely" cover all varsity sporting events in a given geographical area. Local news media may even "routinely" cover "major high school sports" in detail, with several hundred words given to every high school football game in the county. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:26, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
davidwr I put comments in the edit summarys. I took the temporary event out of the lead it is a bit WP:UNDUE, and copied over the enrollment figure of 850. With that size, references must exist. Looking at the photo, it looks bigger than The Capitol- but a lot less violent.ClemRutter (talk) 22:53, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
@ClemRutter: and a lot less violent only if they don't have a rugby team  . davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 22:56, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
Also, just being a K-12 school of over 850 people doesn't mean "sources must exist" that would show notability. Many schools that are lower than the "high school" grade level have that many students and very few meet WP:Notability. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 23:00, 13 February 2021 (UTC)Reply
My guess is that high schools traditionally are given more scrutiny and examination in the press compared to lower levels as this is where people get their diplomas from and because they affect larger groups of students (also the effect of the focus on high school sports) WhisperToMe (talk) 06:09, 2 March 2021 (UTC)Reply
