Talk:Rejection (emotion)

On the feelings aroused by rejection - sometimes being rejected by another is an affirmation of one's self as different from them. Could something be added to the article to account for this?

Do we need this article? edit

Rejection is not really an emotion, and there is already an entry for social rejection. I suggest that this entry be deleted or merged with social rejection. --Jcbutler 00:06, 22 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Reasons for a merge: 1. the definition of "rejection" given here is vague and mainly describing disappointment, 2. the content is highly speculative and personal, not encyclopediac, 3. rejection issues are already addressed on the page social rejection. --Jcbutler 03:01, 27 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
Yes but I like how this page explains how rejecion feels, and it is an emotion, to feel rejected. Maybe merge if we could make Social rejection discuss the feelings involved in more depth. This aticle also starts to discuss Specialist medical intervention may be needed for persons who experience deep feelings of rejection, as they may lead to or exarcebate more serious psychiatric illnesses." I'd be intrigued to learn more about the methods used.Merkinsmum 17:34, 7 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
