It's not cut and paste, but there are only so many ways of writing small snippets of info. That being said I'll be adding some more info from other sources throughot the day and tomorrow. Abel29a 15:34, 16 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Drumbeat: Hardegen's travel guide map/lack of mapping

edit

One thing that is in dispute: the assertion that Hardegen and the other U-Boats involved in the operation, lacked mapping due to disorganization. The source material I have, states instead, that it was a conscious decision by Doenitz/HQ, for reasons of operational secrecy, that mapping was not to be allocated from stores for this operation.92.40.116.35 (talk) 03:39, 21 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Recent pic?

edit

Given Hardegen's extraordinary centenarian status, it would be interesting and appropriate to include a recent pic. See 2012 Daily Mail photo here: [1] Sca (talk) 17:39, 5 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Ordered to shell the Statue of Liberty.

edit

He was ordered to shell the Statue of liberty if possible. He ignored that order as to dangerous to his U-boat. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.104.95.117 (talk) 22:18, 31 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
