largest regrade in urban history?

Probably not, if you consider the works in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, (about the same time as the regrade took place in Seattle) wich leveled a massive hill and reoriented the streets in downtown Rio in order to build a large avenue and waterfront and make way for the city's further expaansion southwards. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.37.62.163 (talk) 13:53, 13 December 2007 (UTC)

Map needed

The problem is that there would probably be a lot of research involved in producing a relevant map. We could use the Sanborn Maps to get before-and-after for any given small area, but someone would need to synthesize that. - Jmabel | Talk 19:37, 7 October 2008 (UTC)

"White settlers"

It is a fallacy that all Western settlers were white. E.g. Manuel Lopes (barber) settled in 1858 and William Grose (black Seattle pioneer), Black U.S. Navy veteran, settled in 1861. Also see first sentence of History of Chinese Americans in Seattle Greater Seattle has had a Chinese American community almost since its founding in 1851. We need to not perpetuate this myth from a 1950s textbook. ☆ Bri (talk) 15:22, 31 March 2019 (UTC)
