This article is a nonsensical guess at what regional geology means. Regional geology is just the study of large-scale geological provinces, structures, etc. Geologist don't study regional geology of politically bounded units, because regional geology deals with geologically meaningful large reasons, often structurally related, but also lithologically related regions, etc. -68.107.137.178 (talk) 05:22, 1 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

They often study countries, as they are paid by the government of the country to do so. Students in that country will pay special attention to their own country also. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:26, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
I also thought that it would be a good idea to explain to the reader that geologic regions are a pretty fuzzy concept, where often times the boundaries are not drawn for geologic reasons. But it is hard to source because geologists usually don't publish about the philosophical parts of their work. --Tobias1984 (talk) 09:54, 21 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
