Question edit

Did the movie really show her "mutilating her genitalia with a crucifix"? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.54.174.43 (talk) 22:55, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

Yes, although not with graphic nudity. --Cheeser1 (talk) 23:02, 9 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Wait, so it doesn't really show it, it just implies it? 68.54.174.43 (talk) 00:23, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Yes, although without any ambiguity about what she's doing. --Cheeser1 (talk) 02:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Well, I'd say the line "Let Jesus f**k you" makes it pretty obvious. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.214.222.147 (talk) 05:51, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I was always under the impression that she was masturbating with the crucifix, not mutilating herself. The words mean two totally different things, so someone should probably check and see which it is (I'm useless for this, as I've never actually seen the movie, only experienced it via popular culture) Chaoticfluffy (talk) 20:15, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply
Rest assured, she is indeed mutilating her genitalia. She is thrusting the crucifix into her genitalia forcefully in a stabbing mition (using it as if it was a knife) to the point that it causes bleeding... it is far from anything that could be mistaken as masturbation.64.80.201.194 (talk) 18:29, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeesh. Ok, well, that settles that...*shudder* Chaoticfluffy (talk) 18:54, 27 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I wonder if Mercedes McCambridge should be mentioned here? edit

Here's an article mentioning her role as the dub voice for Regan, from the Mercedes McCambridge article. http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2004-03-17-mercedes-mccambridge_x.htm --Addict 2006 00:17, 19 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Intro edit

I have not seen the sequel, so I have no idea how to correct this, but perhaps someone who has seen The Exorcist II can make a sentence from the following words "In the second film, it turns out that was owned because like other people, he was a healer and In the movie "Repossessed", she changes your identity from Regan MacNeil in Nancy Aglet."A Pedant (talk) 22:29, 14 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

note to add to the notes section about date of Regan's birth. edit

~~Concerning the date of Regan's birth, remember that no year is stated in the first movie, but the 3rd film makes it clear that the original movie was set in 1975. If Regan was 12 in the first film (set in 1975), then she was probably born in 1963. This isn't a "recon"; EXORCIST 3 makes it very clear that 15 years have gone by since the first movie, and shows the year of Karris' death on his gravestone as being 1975, so it fits perfectly. BTW, there are two Regans ... the Regan from the first film goes on to become a super-powered "good locust" savior in HERETIC ... the TV Regan (who is without doubt the novel Regan, and possibly the first movie Regan as well) isn't the HERETIC Regan, as the TV Regan has no powers and no mention is made to HERETIC events. It's odd that the TV Regan references the book (the TV Regan is called "Rags", her nickname in the book, but not in any movie ... the bible given to TV Regan from her mother is in the book, but not the movie, so on). But anyway, hope this information is helpful. Abbythecat~~
