Reason for removing engineering stub and expand tag

edit

I have just spent a number of hours revising, re-formatting and expanding this article. Although it still needs more work, I don't think the engineering stub tag or the expand tag are any longer warranted and have removed both of them. - mbeychok 01:58, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

This article needs info on sugar refining

edit

This article needs someone knowledgeable to provide a discussion of sugercane processing as well as a flow diagram of the processing. If someone would email or fax me a sketch of such a flow sheet (along with some references to back up the diagram), I would be pleased to draw and to upload the diagram. - mbeychok 20:01, 5 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

This article has nothing to do with food and drink by any stretch of the imagination. I am removing the food and drink tag. - mbeychok (talk) 19:46, 3 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

This article should have the diagrams of petroleum refining removed

edit

Refining is a general process not specific to petroleum products. The petroluem refining diagrams already exist under an pages specifically about refining petroluem oil and natural gas refining which is where they belong and so they should be removed from here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Biofuel (talkcontribs) 17:17, 26 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

A great many Wikipedia articles include images that are used in other articles. That is not a valid reason for removing images.

Copyvio

edit

The last few sections of this page added by 61.158.172.70 are all copied verbatim from online sources, the presence of phrases like "The main oil product produced by our recycling application" and the sudden cut-off are major red flags. Seeing as these sections didn't exist at all before, perhaps it should be reorganised or edited with content from rubber recycling (which is a C class article). Waste Plastic Refinery Section Needs Rewrite

edit

I fixed some blatant spelling mistakes and removed unfinished sentences from the section, but the section is in bad need of an entire rewrite as well as sourcing.

I agree 100%!! The two sections (one about waste tires and one about waste plastics) are very badly written and the two sections are intertwined instead of being either completely separated or completely integrated (which is what I would favor). Also, capitalization has been too often used inappropriately.
The two badly written sections were added to this article on Oct. 10th by 61.158.172.70 and then, on Oct. 30th, 123.6.0.80 copied most of those two sections into the Pyrolysis article. So now we have two messes, one in this article and one in the Pyrolysis article.

I believe that the Refinery page is very much lacking in the racial, and political aspects of what a refinery has on the community that it is a part of. The article seems to be single sided and does not include many major facts about the negative and positive impacts of having a refinery in a specific neighborhood. The article is very vague and does not provide enough information on environmental and social issues in society.

What is a secondary refinery?

edit

I see the term "secondary refinery" in the context of lead production, here: https://prd-wret.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com/assets/palladium/production/atoms/files/mis-202004-lead.pdf but I haven't been able to find a definition of the term.
