Etymology edit

In the Spanish of the 17th and 18th century, reducciones meant "congregations" or "concentrations." The idea was to congregate or concentrate the Indian peoples into Spanish-style villages to better control and evangelize them. In Mexico, if I recall correctly, "reducciones" were called "congregaciones." Smallchief (talk) 15:07, 30 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
