SMDC/ARSTAT
Why is there no mention of SMDC at this page? It is the highest ranking command on post, with the three star general over it? AMCOM LCMC has a two star. Runwolf 17:58, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Need Editing Help
I added information about R&D Division in 1955-57 but it goofed up the article about the first Explorer launch, a Redstone Rocket with additional stages of scaled-down Sergeant engines. Then there is some note in red that I neither understand nor know how to fix. I guess at 80+ years old I should not have attempted this edit, but I was there and who else is still alive and would know about then.Cschloss (talk) 16:39, 1 May 2011 (UTC)Chuck Schloss
No USAMMCS?
Thousands of soldiers learned basic electronics followed by specialized missile training to support Cold War weapons systems at Redstone Arsenal. The training was run by the United States Army Missile and Munitions Center and School at Redstone. I trained there in 1970-71. At the time weapons systems supported were Hawk, Nike Hercules, Pershing and and TOW. There was also a training program for ammunition storage and supply. In 1970 there was one training Battalion composed of 3 companies (about 400 men) and a reception/Headquarters company. It saddens me that the documentation of this very good technical school is almost non-existent on the web.

- This has been on my do list for a while. I was a 21L Pershing missile electronics repairer. I attended MMCS in 1978, then was school staff from 1981 to 1985. I moved the paragraph to a separate section under School and expanded it a bit. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 21:43, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
