It could also mean "Do not fight [each other]" as its likely thats whats happening all over the country as food runs out. I discount the possibility of a Chinese invasion since the US Trident sub force would reduce China to ashes if they or anyone else tried to invade.

Which also begs the question, whats the status of overseas U.S. military assets? How are things going in Iraq after the attacks? Were there similar attacks in Europe and did the U.S. Trident force already fire there weapons? Did the other major powers user their nukes and even though we saw 2 missiles being launched was the whole arsenal used? Is it possible these aircraft could have been from the Confederate Air Force? As for the food maybe its not really being airdropped from China but simply acquisitioned from Asian markets in this country? A key point to consider. How did the chinese know to drop all this stuff on Jericho? Not even F.E.M.A. or any other gov. agency has been to Jericho. Did Ravenwood decide to do something nice for them and send a referral to the international relief forces? Have they had the area under surveillance? Will they arrive in force soon? Also pay attention to the morse code spoiler. "It begins with..."

Motivation: China and America are allies, I won't say, /friends/. It's true that even countries whose people are the best of friends, would not have the other's interest above their own number 1, but generally, countries that are /friends/ would have people interested in each other's people and so on. Example; China and Russia, China have a Year of Russia, and Russia will have a Year of China soon. What China and America have, is trade relations, and footings as superpowers of their region. Stability is important to China, and while America have caused much instability in the world with their invasion of Vietnam and so on...I do understand that the /collapse/ of America would be a bad thing for the entire world. Though flawed, the entity of America, a country of immirgrants, is a good thing for the world as long as no one crazy is behind the world (ditto for every country).

Another motivation would be /personal/, no matter the hardships Chinese-Americans have had in the past, America have still been a refuge for many Chinese people while China was in turmoil, some stayed, some went back even after generations. A debt owed is a debt to be repay. In case any Americans were to suspect that China dropped the bomb and become hostile to the ABCs, Americans of Chinese descent and Chinese immirgrants, this edible olive tree will pacify the mob. Third would be, empathy, almost 50 years ago millions of Chinese straved during A Great Leap Backwards, many there today still remember what it's like to be a hungry nation. The Planes

the planes might be russian for the sake of the story, but visually the fighter don't look like mig 19's, they look more like a modern delta winged fighters, like the european typhoon or french rafale. also mig 19's are not carrier bassed, also afaik they cannot be refuled while in air and with only a 685 km range they've had to take off from usa's soil.

the cargo planes again do not look like an 32's becuse of the 4 bay engine's on the wings, an 32 only has 2 which are above the wings even. but antonov have some similar planes in their line like the an 12 or an 22.

It is of note that the PRC Air Force flies a copy of the MiG-19, the Shenyang J-6, though most combat aircraft were withdrawn from service in 2005. Misterkillboy 11:52, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

They were AN-12s they strongly resemble the American C-130 because that is what they are based on. Wikipedia has a photo that looks just like the ones in Red Flag. The Chinese also produce a similar version, the Y-8 based on the AN-12. Some are speculating the MiGs may have US pilots and may be flying escort missions out of AREA 51 since older MiGs would have been immune to EMP effects that would ground more modern jets. Russian planes are often seen being flown there for testing. The MiG-19s were probably in storage but still flight worthy.

If the CBS press release hadn't already said Russian planes I'd have guessed C-130, so I'd go with the An-12. Forget the Area 51 nonsense. A more realistic scenario is an international relief effort being staged out of somewhere close but unaffected by the bombs, e.g. Alaska, Canada and Mexico. The An-12 would be able to do a return flight from almost anywhere in Canada or Mexico to almost anywhere in the continental USA with maximum payload. It could also do a return from Anchorage to Kansas with a bit less than maximum load. The characters could have easily misidentified the fighters as Mig-19s, which would be hard pressed to reach Jericho from Colorado! Dbromage 02:42, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Gracie's fate

I've removed the text re: Gracie dying as it is speculation at this point. The indications from promos, etc. all seem to make it clear that the character will die, but as far as we know based on what has aired in the body of the show, not including previews, she has been stabbed. Is she dead? Will she be discovered, attempts made to treat her, but she still dies? Unless I'm mistaken, we don't know yet. --Ckatz^chat_spy 23:02, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I put text on Gracie's murder back in. The episode description for Vox Populi confirms she is dead, because Gray leads the townspeople in a hunt for Gracie's "murderer." In addition, leaks from CBS stated that a main character would be killed. --Tarheel blue 23:40, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

Your change ("mortally wounded") actually addresses both my concerns and what happens in the next episode. The older version said that she was "killed", which implies that she is dead at the end of the episode. "Mortally wounded", on the other hand, leaves open the possibility that she survives for a while, but inevitably succumbs to the injuries sustained in the attack. Seconded. It's pretty obvious that her wounds are quite probably mortal if she doesn't get medical assistance soon. The new wording leaves the question of whether she actually dies before or after next week's opening credits roll an open one, which could come in handy if the CBS press blurb turns to be wrong and/or deliberately misleading. Psy Ops.

1. Fighters and cargo aircraft over Kansas are very tought for most nations to pull off. Including China and Russia. There are few nations in the world who can pull of the logistics of long range aerial deployment. 2. In addition to this, the packages are on US drop pallets (but we dont know this, since none of the characters mention it, or allude to it). 3. Let us not forget the US has launched ICBMs... so we are at war with someone.

I don't think it would be Ravenwood. Not too long ago they tried to loot Jericho. Why now drop all those supplies plus a huge electrical generator? I support either Hawkins' group being responsible or the chinese and russians working in co-operation with the Air Force.

If it was Ravenwood maybe they reported back to FEMA on what happened in Jericho, got the ass-chewing of their life, and decided to do the air-drops to make amends. Not to point out the obvious, but there *is* a nation fairly close to the US who does fly soviet equipment... Cuba. I do have an issue with the planes we saw... I can totally see the US allowing foreign transports to drop supplies, but I'm not seeing the US willingly allowing foreign combat aircraft in our airspace. I'm thoroughly confused as to where the producers are taking the show, and I'm starting to get a little worried that they're "shooting from the hip" a little too much. --69.143.69.249 23:13, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
