Definition problems

I think the introduction of this article has weaknesses. The definition of a "Real time database" is derived from the now 16 year old book Computers: Tools for an Information Age (ISBN:0-13-091954-3)

"Realtime database" has acquired a second meaning in recent years: it is used to refer to systems such as Firestore, RethinkDB, etc which push state from the DB to clients, thus "keeping the clients in sync in real time". — Preceding unsigned comment added by Myrmornis (talk • contribs) 16:20, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Removal from Cleanup Listing

This article is one of the oldest outstanding on the cleanup listing at almost 7 years. At this point I believe all outstanding, *major* issues have been addressed. Cleanup Notice

Not a bad article, but a little unencyclopedic in places, especially with the "how-to" aspects (Wikipedia is not an implementation manual), and some others aren't backed up strongly enough or feel like original research or outright speculation. It would be better if these were rewritten in an attributed style, e.g. "Lam says that ..." --Dhartung | Talk 10:12, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I have added a list of various RTDBs as well as a third party reference providing them. Additional (more specific) citation can be provided as required if absolutely necessary. Lets add more while avoiding citations from corporations listing their own products or universities publishing their own research papers. Jaydubya93 (talk) 17:31, 3 January 2014 (UTC)

Future database systems

The last line of the paragraph "Future database systems" is "This paper discusses the example of a school registration system." It turns out the purported source https://www.mcobject.com/extremedb-rt-questions-and-answers/%7C1 copied from this article. You can tell because the article was phrased differently when it was created with the match increasing with time. MER-C 16:57, 9 May 2023 (UTC)
