Current status of competition?

There's no mention of the competition's status since the announcement re: its not being held in 2007-2008. Has it been held lately? If not, has there been any formal announcement of a) plans for its return or b) its being allowed to go defunct? If the competition has been held lately, when did it resume, and when was it last held?

List of champions?

A list of national champions, ideally starting as a section within this article and then splitting off into a new list article once the competition has been held numerous times, would be nice...
