About perspective edit

Regarding this revert. My comment is to please try to see things from a broader perspective. Kington is no longer just a college president in Iowa, but he's an American educator (ie lede sentence) who will soon be the head of school of an elite academy (Andover). So please try to see things from the perspective of readers around the world who are unfamiliar with American degrees, what a BS or MD or PhD or MBA degree means (why these terms were wikilinked). From the perspective of readers from a broader time frame, it is less important that Kington served at the NIH from February 9, 2003 to October 31, 2008 -- are those particular dates important enough to readers -- are they encyclopedic -- not really. Stepping back, seeing things from a longer perspective of time, what's encyclopedic is that he served at NIH for five years from 2003 to 2008. We don't need to know it was from February 9th 2003 to October 31st 2008. That stuff can belong in a resume or CV, not Wikipedia; it does belong in the infobox where it is appropriate. So please try to step back, see things from a broader perspective, and understand that other Wikipedians will be working on this article, that is, see this page. And please don't remove referenced content that substantially expands the article.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 12:15, 23 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Social justice and diversity claims edit

Tomwsulcer added the sentence "As an educator, he is committed to cultural diversity and social justice" to the page lead section. I removed it since the source used did not say that. It was quite specifically speaking about an institution, not Kingstom himself. Tomwsulcer added it back with two additional sources. None of the sources support the sentence. None mention "social justice" except as the name of an award. Even if they did, it seems like unnecessary editorial content in a lead section.
