Standards

It is noted that Indian Metro Rail Lines are not all built to the same standards:

Gauge: (Standard gauge or Broad gauge) Power: 25kV AC or 750VDC 3-rail) Loading Gauge: ???? Auto Train Operation: ???? Couplings: ???? Brakes: ????

So while the cities are widely spaced, it is not clear if rolling stock of one city can be transferred to another in case of say a depot fire, or extra traffic due to say the Olympic Games.

Gauge and Power are fairly clear, and represent world standards, while other like loading gauge are hard for outsiders to know.

Coimbatore Metro

No citation about Coimbatore Metro is given and no Page on Coimbatore Metro exist. Please provide some links for that. Ashok4himself (talk) 19:44, 30 December 2011 (UTC) Since no one provided the reference for Coimbatore Metro and still no page exist for Coimbatore Metro, so removing it from the list as a cleanup. Need an image for this Page

Regarding inclusion criteria

The title of this article is "Rapid transit in India". Rapid transit is a type of high-capacity public transport generally found in urban areas according to its Wikipedia definition. Why is then Kundala Valley Railway and Patiala State Monorail Trainways which were used to transport goods included under Monorail section of this article? They were evidently put there because someone thought they needed to be there. I don't think it is needed because they are old. Really old. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 06:41, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Moreover they are not even rapid transit systems. They were most probably added because they ran on monorail. - Jayadevp13 07:13, 1 July 2015 (UTC)

Gauge and Space

The following statement is really bunkam:

The difference between 1435mm and 1676mm gauges is so small (241mm) that the maximum car width is not effected.

For example the old 1435mm gauge suburban trains in NSW were 3200mm wide (10' 6"), as wide as Indian Broad Gauge cars. Tabletop (talk) 09:42, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

Updation required

The metros Nagpur, Noida-Greater Noida, Navi Mumbai & Ahmedabad (MEGA) {all listed under green background indicating under construction} are under construction currently and that needs to be updated with route km under-construction. WorLD8115 (TalK) 05:47, 30 January 2017 (UTC)
