I wrote an introduction and removed the context tag. Not sure if I'm supposed to remove it myself or wait for another editor to remove it. Maybe somebody can let me know.

5' RACE edit of 23 Oct 2007 edit

I fixed the description of 5' RACE. I think confusion stemmed from the fact that the cDNA strand synthesized (akin to first strand synthesis in RT-PCR) is antisense.

TdT adds a poly-T tail to the 3' end of the newly synthesized cDNA. One, because TdT acts on the 3' ends of DNA. Two, because adding a known priming site to the 5' end of the newly synthesized antisense strand would attach it to the end of the known sequence. (The 5' end of the antisense cDNA corresponds to the known, or at least not yet desired, 3' end of the mRNA.)

Article title edit

There's already a "Race (biology)" article discussing races of animals. This article is currently titled "RACE (biology)". This doesn't seem very distinctive to me. Can I suggest either RACE (molecular biology) or RACE (Rapid Amplification of cDNA Ends)?
