Here three thing have to be mentioned no.1 An important distinction needs to be made between accepting gratuities,which are gifts to the officer without any form of payback and bribery,which is an arrangement between a police officer and a citizen where by the officer does not enforce the law in return for some financial, sexual or other rewards . And second one is criminal activity where officer appropriating goods or money during the course of an investigation, or by actual commission of an offense.
