Illustration tested at 100 (x89) pix. Further points could be linked (ancestral estate > Dunsany Castle and Demesne, for example) but piped links can add quite a bit to the character count.

• Expanded from ~3000 to ~15,000 characters of prose in seven days. Neutral and cited. No copyright issues found. The image is free and looks good in a small format. ALT0 is exactly 200 characters not counting "(pictured)", ALT1 is slightly shorter. QPQ was done back in August. My only issue is that the sources seem to give different info about the woodpeckers: Irish Times from December 2020 say they have never been sighted in Meath before, but France 24 from October 2021 says they were "sighted in the area for the first time in a century". • Thanks for a prompt and thorough review Ffranc. The Irish Times is the newspaper-of-record and I think is the superior (and more locally-aware) source, and what they said was clear "Confirming the presence of the pair of greater spotted woodpeckers, Niall Hatch of BirdWatch Ireland said: “There is no evidence that they were ever in Meath before.”". I think the other wording simply reflects record-keeping - e.g. there are records for about a hundred years. I don't think that there is any claim that woodpeckers were specifically seen 100 years ago, and vanished - they are not mentioned among the "returned species" in the many articles. So I don't think it's a contradiction, just one making a broader statement, the other confining themselves to "as far as we can tell". I will try to find more sources. Which Randal?

Why does Randal Plunkett go to some obscure 19th century figure instead of either of the Dunsany Lords of that name? The 19th was Lord Dunsany for 42 years, a decorated veteran and Head of a Knightly Order in Ireland, while this guy is already Lord Dunsany for 10 years, and is all over the news for the last couple of years with this huge re-wilding gig. Heir - sourcing

After legacy content source Cracroft's Peerage was removed (and IMDB), I must look into sourcing the brother-as-heir, maybe Burke's (p. 1240 in one library-held edition may help). This is a point readers would expect to see. SeoR (talk) 17:27, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Other genealogical connections

"He is descended from the Earls of Jersey, and the family of explorer Sir Richard Francis Burton."

On the one hand, that is pretty vague, and "...descended from...the family of...." doesn't make clear that the connection to Richard Burton is that of cousin, not direct descendant, unless you already know that Sir Richard Francis Burton didn't have any children.

On the other hand, is there really any point in being more explicit? As in: He is a two-greats-grandson of Victor Child Villiers, 7th Earl of Jersey. He is a four-greats-grandson of Admiral James Ryder Burton. He is a 2nd cousin 5 times removed of adventurer Sir Richard Francis Burton. — Preceding unsigned comment added by D. C.
