Island... edit

There is a claim in the article that there is currently no island in the river. However the picture CLEARLY shows one!!!

Also, I believe that the town was originally on an island, which became part of the mainland. Early maps display it if I remember rightly. So I'm going to remove this claim. --MacRusgail 13:10, 23 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

The picture is of the lake in Mooragh park and the island is an artificial one. There is no island in the Sulby river near Ramsey currently. I have restored the statement until a genuine proof of a currently existing island can be given.Dabbler 03:34, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Case of misidentification... But I seem to recall that there was originally an island in the estuary, which has been fully connected to the "mainland". --MacRusgail 10:37, 24 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Railway edit

Hi, the article says that the railway was established by the Isle of Man Railway in 1879 and transferred to the Manx Northern Railway in 1880. This is almost correct, the railway was built by the Manx Northern Railway itself but operated by the Isle of Man Railway until 1880, when the MNR took over day to day operation.

This is supported by the articles about the Isle of Man Railway and the Manx Northern Railway:

Isle of Man Railway

Manx Northern Railway

It is also the version of events in Hendry and Hendry's history of the Manx Northern Railway. 92.4.130.191 (talk) 11:06, 22 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
