According to the info available from Sheffield United (Sheffield United Whos Who) Gaudie was reportedly sold to Villa for £150 in the 1898 close season. He certainly didn't play for the Blades after the end of the 88/89 season (his last game for us was in April that year). Whilst at Villa he became ill and went to South Africa to recuperate and then fell out with Villa on his return, thus leaving for Arsenal. Could he also have been at Villa Park alongside his brother (hence the move originally?) Bladeboy1889 (talk) 10:08, 27 November 2011 (UTC)Reply
