Misleading

edit

Much of this aricle is misleading, although it may have a few students comeing from portions of NY, having only 850 students it it is in no way the largest school — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.45.4.118 (talkcontribs) 14:35, 4 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Misleading Information

edit

Kushner High School has less than 250 students (the 800 refers to the high school plus the lower/middle school). It was also not the product of a merger (only the ls is) and likewise, the building figures refer to the lower school. Also, something should be noted about the several scandals that have plagued the school as well as its many problems and critisisms, as well as the financial turmoil currently transpiring at the school. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Unclemoishy770 (talkcontribs) 17:37, 12 April 2007 (UTC).Reply

include the name of the person for whom the school is named, i.e. the title of this article

edit

The school is named for Jared Kushner's grandmother.[1] X1\ (talk) 01:17, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply

X1\, Jack Schlossberg is the grandson of John F. Kennedy. Kennedy is the namesake of John F. Kennedy International Airport and a whole slew of John F. Kennedy High Schools. Should we mention Schlossberg in an all of these articles as JFK's grandson? Of course not. Why should Jared Kushber be name-checked in the RKYHS article? Without consensus to include it, the mention will be removed. Alansohn (talk) 19:50, 9 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Alansohn, the addition of Joseph Kushner was helpful, thank you. Your analogy is unhelpful, as the notoriety is reversed: JFK is known worldwide, while Schlossberg is not. Rae is not notable, while Jared Kushner is Senior Advisor to the President of the United States and the current U.S. President Donald Trump's son-in-law. X1\ (talk) 00:34, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
X1\, again, the fundamental issue here is that Jared Kushner was not the benefactor who named it after Rae Kushner. It was Charles Kushner, his father, who named it after his mother (who happens to be Jared's grandmother). This connection between Jared Kushner and RKYHS is just as tangential as the connection between Jack Schlossberg and John F. Kennedy International Airport (of JFK high school), regardless of the fact that Jared is "more notable". Nor is there any reason to list Joshua Kushner, Jared's brother.
What was added about the donation from Charles Kushner is what's relevant here. Alansohn (talk) 00:50, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
Alansohn, there is no reason to be pedantic by adding Joshua. X1\ (talk) 01:07, 13 November 2018 (UTC)Reply
