Music Videos

All music video information came from: http://www.mvdbase.com/. I can't figure out how to cite things, but I wanted this information available so that it wasn't reverted due to improper citation. Johnsorc 19:33, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

Great work Johnsorc - with a little more polish around the edges, this discography is looking in very good shape Hongshi 20:19, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

What about Scotch Mist? Link from their main channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukythkK4EPQ. I think that should be added to the Video Albums (although they call it a movie). 82.76.166.21 (talk) 16:18, 19 July 2012 (UTC)

Bootlegs

There are some albums I've seen that appear to be marked "bootleg" that I haven't found on this page or the main Radiohead page, such as Les Enfants Terrible and Paragons of Virtue. Perhaps a section could be started for these? Icemuon 11:20, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps, but that wouldn't go under the official discography section. If that were to be logged at all, I'd start a separate article and keep this one as just official releases, but that's just my two cents. Johnsorc 16:45, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I agree. In my opinion, bootlegs are not as integral to the career of Radiohead as, say, The Grateful Dead or Phish and even those discography pages are limited to official releases and "official" bootlegs. However, I could see it being useful to have a separate page of notable bootlegs (which should definitely include Planet Acoustic). ~TheXRayStyle 04:15, 12 March 2007 (UTC)
Created here: List of bootleg albums featuring Radiohead - any help in creating pages for the actual albums would be much appreciated. A good source is listed in external links. ricmitch 19:34, 4 April 2007 (UTC)

Another thing that might be missing is the "5 Album Set". You can buy it at quite some sites, yet it's missing here. What's up with it? Is it an official release by Parlophone or whatever record label at all, or has this been forgotten (which I have not experienced before)? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 137.224.236.132 (talk) 21:43, 19 May 2014 (UTC)

"Bodysnatchers"

According to Mediabase this week, it is certain that tommorow "Bodysnatchers" will hit #36 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, which is solely dictated by airplay. The songs from "In Rainbows" are all eligible as no single was announced, thus radio station programmers could chose whatever song they wished to put on their playlist. Seeing as this happened "Bodysnatchers" IS eligible. We are not lying. Doc Strange 21:43, 31 October 2007 (UTC)

B side section and maybe live section too

i think radiohead have great b side songs, they should get attantion in a new section i'm willing to help with that, if u let me and the live recording "I might be wrong" is not an EP so maybe a live section too thanks bye. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.1.84.91 (talk) 20:45, 25 October 2008 (UTC)

I Might Be Wrong Isn't an EP

I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings is incorrectly listed as an EP. From the Wikipedia EP page, "Usually, an EP has around 10–28 minutes of music, a single has up to 10 minutes, and an album has 30–80 minutes." I Might Be Wrong belongs in its own category as a full-length live album. 70.15.43.207 (talk) 11:40, 21 December 2008 (UTC)Mack

  • I Agree. I know that some EPs ARE longer than LPs (one of Dream Theater's is for instance, and I think one of Alice in Chains') but I'm sure that Radiohead classes their live album as an LP, not an EP. In fact, I think the vinyl version of IMBW is a full size record, not the smaller size. I think that's what counts, since that's where the terms originally derive from. --72.237.101.131 (talk) 19:11, 30 June 2009 (UTC)

Other demos

I know there were four of them. Any idea why there is only information about one of them? Paranoidhuman (talk) 00:33, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Tables are excessive and need to be trimmed

Per WP:DISCOG there should be 10 columns max. Suggestions for which 10 should be kept? Obviously major music markets and countries that have the most chart activity are preferred. I'll cut it down myself if no one has anything to say in the next few days. Check the lists at WP:DISCOG that have been promoted to featured status... that's the layout/format we should be shooting for. - eo (talk) 12:56, 27 September 2010 (UTC)

Based on my table of countries by population (which presumes total population has some relationship to music market size), the 10 countries shown in the Studio albums chart of greatest relative size are: US, MEX, GER, FRA, GB, ITA, ESP, CAN, AUS and NLD. That admittedly ignores the suggested rule of thumb at WP:DISCOGSTYLE about selecting charts based on the relative success of the artist on that chart, which is why, for example, Mexico is in the list and Ireland isn't. OTOH, the Compilations table shows a better result in Mexico than in Ireland, so maybe the two tables should use different charts.
I'll leave an analysis of the charts in the Singles table as a further exercise for the reader.
Does that help your decision-making any? The tables quite clearly need aggressive reduction. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 07:43, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
OK well two things, I'd prefer to keep the countries the same in the studio and compilation tables, if possible. If anyone strongly opposes this, say something. I obviously do not want to go strictly by music market size. IRL is strongly tied to UK so I think that should be kept and MEX chart positions are minimal. If no objections, I'd like to go with UK, AUS, BEL, BEL, CAN, FRA, GER, IRL, NLD, US. On the singles table, I'd keep the same, get rid of CAN Alt. However, I'm undecided on going with US (Hot 100) or US Mod. (Modern Rock chart). - eo (talk) 18:04, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Just some remarks, not arguments: Now that I've seen how incredibly dinky the populations of the two Belgian regions are, I feel kind of funny seeing them included on so many music charts as they are. Even combined (with the rest of Belgium in the capital region) the country ranks only 16th among those countries whose charts we think are interesting (76 in pure population). If it were a country, the Wallonia region would be well in the half of the list containing the smallest countries.
Still, given the charts currently shown in the article, and respecting the relative success clause of the guideline, including the two BEL regions makes sense. As for "Hot or Mod" in the US, don't we always go with the Hot 100 when we have any placements there? I gathered that folks thought that was the main chart – the mainest main chart – in the US. I see the band has hit higher peaks on US Mod, but isn't there a preference for Hot 100 chartings anyway? — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 23:37, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
My personal preference is for the Billboard Hot 100, but I figured I would ask since the Alternative Songs chart seems to be a better indicator of the popularity of Radiohead songs in the States.... Hot 100 placings are sparse! But ultimately I could go either way. - eo (talk) 13:26, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

←By the way, I've been redoing the article on one of my subpages. Everything is complete/fixed/reformatted except for the reduction of columns. Does anyone besides myself and JohnFromPinckney have any input on this??? I'd like to get this implemented somewhat soon, if possible. - eo (talk) 20:04, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Personally I think it would be better to include Alternative Songs instead of the Hot 100 because they've charted so much more on Alt. and I think its a better indication of their success, but you know.. it's not really too important, whatever you like. Nowyouseemetalk2me 01:20, 7 October 2010 (UTC)
This is how I have cut things down. Speak now or forever hold your peace (until you start an all-new discussion about swapping out one of the countries later on):
Albums: UK, AUS, BEL, BEL, CAN, FRA, GER, IRL, NLD, US
Singles: UK, AUS, CAN, FRA, GER, IRL, ITA, NLD, NOR, US
Other charted songs: no changes
Would like to get this implemented shortly. Anyone with last minute requests, speak up. - eo (talk) 16:02, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
OK - I've implemented it. Anyone with issues (e.g. swapping out one country for another), just take up the discussion here. Thanks! - eo (talk) 13:54, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

EP/Album

I Might Be Wrong and COM LAG are both albums. Both are over 25 mins and both feature on the UK album charts, whereas EPs would count on the Singles Chart. The number of songs on each would certainly qualify them as albums as well.--Tuzapicabit (talk) 11:56, 31 October 2011 (UTC)

The Daily Mail/Staircase

If you add a reference to a reliable source to the article page, you don't have to assert that it's an "absolute fact" here on the Talk page. — JohnFromPinckney (talk) 22:25, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Promo Singles

I suppose it should be worthwhile to mention the promo singles from each album. From what I can tell, here are most of them in their entirety.

  • Pablo Honey - "Thinking About You"
  • The Bends - "The Bends", "Bones", "How Can You Be Sure"
  • OK Computer - "Let Down", "Airbag", "Climbing Up the Walls"
  • Kid A - "How to Disappear Completely", "Idioteque", "Optimistic", "The National Anthem", "In Limbo"
  • Amnesiac - "Dollars and Cents" (Live Promo), "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box"
  • Hail to the Thief - "The Gloaming" (DJ Remix Promo), "A Punchup at a Wedding", "Remyxomatosis/Skttrbrain" (Remix promo), "Skttrbrain"
  • King of Limbs - "Bloom", "Give Up The Ghost", "Morning Mr. Magpie", "Feral", "Lotus Flower", "Codex", "Little by Little", "Separator" (TKOL Remix Album singles)
  • Mix songs (song was put on a mixtape alone) - "A Reminder", "(Nice Dream)", "Meeting in the Aisle", "Sail to the Moon", "Where I End and You Begin"

These at least deserve a mention, and some could justify an article, namely "Let Down" for its history. GG360 (talk) 22:47, 1 September 2014 (UTC)

EDIT: Just some updating for some others. Talk Show Host is a promo single off of Romeo + Juliet as well. All from Discogs + Eil.com. 99.243.38.30 (talk) 22:50, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Mention it for sure, but don't expect someone else to add all of this. Do it yourself. Mrmoustache14 (talk) 18:08, 7 May 2016 (UTC)

Singles are incorrect

The Bends and Lotus Flower aren't singles and should be moved to the "other charted songs" section, Supercollider/The Butcher is missing, and Optimistic and Let Down should be in the "other charted" song section too. Why where they even removed? The chart now displayed incorrect information because of this. Should I make these changes? Mrmoustache14 (talk) 06:51, 17 May 2016 (UTC)
