Notability edit

@Donaldd23 removed the notability tag with the edit message "Has multiple reviews (added another one) and award winner. Passes WP:NFILM". I'm not sure I'm convinced. The review added is from Film Threat, which is a site that does paid reviews. Since 2011, those seeking a review from the site can pay between $50 and $400 for varying levels of service, ranging from a "guaranteed review within 7–10 days" to a package that includes a guarantee of "100K minimum impressions". It's not clear to me if paid reviews are disclosed on the review page. If this is a paid review, it certainly does not help establish notability.

The other reviews are:

  • [1] -- likely WP:SPS
  • [2] -- possible WP:SPS or otherwise non-RS
  • [3] -- as indicated at the bottom of the article, this is a press release, not RS
  • [4] -- self-published/blog, not RS
  • [5] -- self-published/blog, not RS

So no reviews that are clearly in reliable sources. Overall I am not seeing that this meets WP:FILM. Jfire (talk) 20:15, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I've removed all of the above reviews except for the one on http://theartsstl.com/, which at least purports to have some editorial oversight. Jfire (talk) 14:44, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hello Jfire, I've added a few of the existing reviews (including the one in Film Threat; but I take notice of what you say about that site) and concur with Donaldd23's assessment. I've also re-removed the tag. I do believe notability is clear here. Best, -My, oh my! (Mushy Yank) 21:48, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mushy Yank, good to see you, and thanks for the sourcing effort. I see that Film Threat is quite widely cited on WP, so I started a thread at RSN to solicit opinions on its reliability in light of the paid review service. Jfire (talk) 01:31, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
