editI think it's problematic to align John Maynard Keynes with the orthodox and neoclassical school of economics. Keynes offered systematic challenges to assumptions of mainstream theory, despite more inclusive revisions of his work later on. I just want to emphasize the dramatic difference between Keynes and the neoclassical thought of Milton Friedman and the like.
I beliebe that the correct english name for CEPAL would be ECLAC (and not ECLA) because it´s name is "Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean". As a matter of fact, the URL name of CEPAL is www.eclac.org
Please correct me if I´m wrong to do this changes. --Matias+1 03:31, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
ECLA's mandate originally didn't cover the Caribbean. To reflect the enlarged role of the organization the name was changed in the 1980s to ECLAC to reflect the additional area focus. Whether ECLA or ECLAC should be used is debatable as the organization was ECLA while Prebisch was there. toivotuo 20:35, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

There is at least an error in this webpage on Raul Prebisch. He was never President (or Governor) of the Central Bank of Argentina. He was General Manager, reporting to the President and from this capacity he implemented a new monetary approach based an adaptation of Keynes's macroeconomics to the Argentina economy. 207.224.82.181 18:48, 15 September 2007 (UTC) |
