Manji edit

The link to [Manji] does not seem appropriate in this context and should probably be removed (or moved to a different point in the article?). Moretz 00:39, 13 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Quicksand (novel)Quicksand (Tanizaki novel) – restore Japanese author surname per WP:DISAMBIGUATION. Quicksand (Nella Larsen novel) (1911) is a major novel featured in the Penguin 20th Century Classics series and better known than this, the English translation title of Manji (novel) by Tanizaki. We also have a substantial 500 word chunk about Quicksand (Nella Larsen novel) in the Nella Larsen artice. "novel Quicksands" in Google Books is more likely to refer to Nella Larsen than Tanizaki's novel which is usually known as Manji. In ictu oculi (talk) 15:30, 23 July 2015 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. There's also a notable novel titled Quicksand by John Brunner (novelist) - published in four languages, extensively reviewed, repeatedly reissued since its original 1967 publication, and recently made available as an ebook in a major publisher's line of "classic" sf. • Oppose. There are no other articles on novels titled Quicksand on Wikipedia. The link to the dab page serves any readers looking for a different topic.--Cúchullain t/c 18:24, 23 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
Since when does no other articles on novels titled Quicksand on Wikipedia count for WP:DISAMBIGUATION? This is a textbook case of why WP:DISAMBIGUATION follows sources and content, not merely which titles are standalone. Shouldn't we follow the guideline? Quicksand (disambiguation). • Comment if the Nella Larsen novel is as notable as In ictu oculi suggests, it ought to have its own article rather than simply be a redirect to Nella Larsen. Snuggums (talk / edits) 05:08, 26 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose per Cuchullain. Calidum T|C 21:38, 26 July 2015 (UTC)Reply
