Origins of Queimada edit

None of the theories about the origin of Queimada explained in this article have reliable sources anywhere.

Although widely believed to be a very ancient tradition, Queimada is most likely to have been created a few decades ago (in the 1950s) by groups of Galician emigrants in Madrid.

The author of the spell -Mariano Marcos Abalo- is still alive and was interviewed a few years ago by a Galician newspaper (interview in Spanish).

There's an article titled "Desmontamos os mitos sobre a orixe ancestral da queimada" ("Dismantling the myths of Queimada's ancient origin") that talks about all these things. --SugarKane (talk) 21:25, 1 January 2010 (UTC)Reply

I've never heard of the pumpkin receptacle. If you go to the Spanish version of the article, you won't find it anywhere there. Therealdiderot (talk) 05:24, 19 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

This is an article from the BBC that explains potential origins "[1]" Juliay044 (talk) 15:22, 21 March 2023 (UTC)Reply
