New article edit

Please help me to Wikify this article by helping me to add references. Markg65 (talk) 16:01, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia :-) I attempted to clean up the lead section a little to a more WP:NPOV (neutral point of view) tone (including removing most of the talk about other groups). Not that I dispute the accuracy, but such opinions need more NPOV wording and 3rd party references to back them up (otherwise the article sounds like a press release for the group). Thanks for your help with this article, I really appreciate it! I realize that it needed/needs a lot of cleanup to make it Wikified, but just wanted to get the basic information out there and see if it could be worked into a Wiki acceptable article. I also put an article about the Rainbow Lounge Raid, but I think Wikipedia ruled that it wasn't a notable event and is going to delete it. Markg65 (talk) 14:58, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
My edits were minor, Benjiboi has done a great job on cleaning it up to standard article style/tone & adding refs :-). I removed the proposed deletion (prod) tag the other day from the Rainbow Lounge Raid 2009 article, but it may still be nominated to go through the formal deletion process (AfD), but that would require consensus of multiple users to delete. If you add any new info to either article, an easy way to add in-line references to back up facts if needed is typing <ref>paste the web address of news story here</ref>. This will add an in-line footnote & the reference to the refs list at the bottom of the article. Wikignome0529 (talk) 16:39, 4 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Milk Box held for first time in Fort Worth - Established LGBT groups attempt to ban Queer Liberaction from events edit

There was a Milk Box held Sunday, July 5th, 2009, at Sundance Square in Fort Worth, the first time the event was held in Fort Worth (an extremely conservative area). The event made all local TV news and both newpapers (Fort Worth Star Telegram and Dallas Morning News).

It was announced that the established LGBT groups had made a deal with the city of Fort Worth to exclude Queer Liberaction from the formal event later that month. Queer Liberaction is still fighting to be included. Queer Liberaction still plans on holding another Milk Box on Sunday, July 12th, 2009, but this time on the steps of the courthouse. Will try to see if I can find written documentation about the other groups trying to exclude Queer Liberaction from the formal event. Markg65 (talk) 04:20, 6 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

notability not demonstrated - AFD? edit

Once you strip out the general prop 8 references, the blogs and a couple of trivial mentions, this group seems as notable as a local scout group. Are there any better references before I send it to AFD? --Cameron Scott (talk) 06:51, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, refer to your !vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rainbow Lounge raid and then ask yourself if you really want to be accused of a WP:POINT vio in the Afd when you open it. - ALLSTRecho wuz here 07:03, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
*yawn* - got anything useful to add? That tactic has been tried before with me, it's as effective as a glass hammer. --Cameron Scott (talk) 07:24, 8 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Agree with ASE on this, you won't get it deleted and likely shouldn't try per WP:Snow. -- Banjeboi 18:06, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

QL members expelled from the Fort Worth City Council Meeting edit

Please add some reliable sources to this section that was just added. Thank you. Wperdue (talk) 23:35, 16 July 2009 (UTC)wperdueReply

Afd?? edit

This article has some major notability issues and neutrality issues, with the non-topical Prop 8 information maybe this article is eligible for deletion. Comments?--Jayson (talk) 09:20, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Prop 8 information is quite neutral and only uses basic information to provide the background for this group which was inspired to form because of that proposition in another state - Prop 8 was the biggest in US history and this group specifically cites it for its existence. -- Banjeboi 18:08, 22 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps other variables come into factor when you review the article, however, the neutrality of the article is clearly slanted towards the "Queer Liberaction" group. Not including some notability issues.... This article is in need of major cleanup or else in my opinion it should be sent to AFD.--Jayson (talk) 18:02, 24 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Veiled threats aside I can assure you this won't be deleted. Except for recent additions i haven't looked through the prior version was rather NPOV. Could you cite any specific content that should be changed? -- Banjeboi 01:53, 25 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
