007 in New York connection

The article is missing the fact the final sequence of the film, wherein Bond warns an agent that her boyfriend is the enemy, is taken from the short story "007 in New York" from the Octopussy and the Living Daylights omnibus. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 20:06, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Please find a reliable source that says that so we can cite it when adding that bit of info. DonQuixote (talk) 20:15, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
I agree with you both: it is probably from 007 in NY, but without a reliable secondary source it remains original research. - SchroCat (talk) 20:26, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

Review description

Theironminer, Could you please stop edit warring and discuss your proposed changes. Your suggested text goes against a long-standing consensus and you need to stop editing and explain WHY you think the change is a positive one. I have left you notification that one more reversion will breach WP:3RR, and I strongly advise you to read that policy before you edit that phrase again. - SchroCat (talk) 10:45, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

I see you are still obsessed with thr article. But I've found this talk page and I'm about to fix this. The only way we can see if the film DID recieve mixed reviews is to look on the internet for reviews from 2008 and see if they go in mixed order as you claim. If this prediction of mixed reviews fails, then I will have to ask for your permission for an edit similar to the reception for Elysium (film) and Traitor (film) that will make the article make more sense and show the truth. While I'm looking, take a look at the reception for Date Night and see what I've been trying to explain earlier. - Theironminer (talk) 5:37 PM, 3 July, 2014
1. Do not comment on other users, especially negatively; there is no "obsession", and no need for you to comment on people's motivation. 2. Section titles should be neutral: this is, so please do not change it again. As to the review section, the reviews were mixed: I'm not sure why you think this is not so, but you need to read some of the reviews, which reflect exactly that. - SchroCat (talk) 21:54, 3 July 2014 (UTC)
That's what needs to be done. The only way to proove they are mixed is by the dates of the reviews. - Theironminer (talk), 1:30 AM, 5 July, 2014 — Preceding undated comment added 05:30, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure what mean about the dates, and how that is going to "prove" anything. I'll point out what the section says, which supports our current wording: "Metacritic calculated a score of 58 out of 100 from 38 reviews, indicating a "mixed or average" response." Putting your own opinion on what you think the wording should be would fail WP:OR and WP:POV. - SchroCat (talk) 17:19, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
I'll take a look at metacritic. I'll get back to the talk later. - Theironminer (talk), 2:31 PM, 5 July, 2014 — Preceding undated comment added 18:31, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
This is the page you need to look at. BTW, when you are discussing in chat, please indent your comments in chat by using colons before each posting. You also need to sign your posts using four tildes (~~~~). - SchroCat (talk) 22:36, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

The following was placed on my talk page, but would be better placed here to continue the discussion. - SchroCat (talk) 07:33, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Well, I've looked at the reviews on Metacritic, and Metacritic can't help because not all the reviews are included to make a clear percentage like Rotten Tomatoes. RT, on the other hand, has more (and probably all) critic reviews and a fine percentage to show for. Also, the percentage on Metacritic is 58, which is acceptional for a mixed-to-positive rating, like Daniel Craig's other movie Defiance, (57%) and the first Transformers movie (57%). I strongly suggest that you check these sources, and respond respectfully so no other issue will start up. Thank you. - Theironminer (talk), 12 August, 2014 — Preceding undated comment added 02:41, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

I certainly wouldn't rely on the "clear percentage" of the deeply flawed RT: the reviewers didn't put it there: RT did. So it's already a step away from being the carefully written and balanced piece of prose, and is instead, mindlessly and moronically given an arbitrary figure that is a long way from "clear". There is no published criteria from Rancid Tomatoes to explain the difference between, say, 58 and 59%, except the gut feeling of an anonymous editor somewhere. We cover both the RT and Metacritic scores and descriptors in the opening line of the reception section. Both these organisations differ, the reviews all differ, and the critics all differ. That is a mixed response. As to what other articles say, see WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS. Ironminer, this has quickly developed into a circular argument discussion: you're not going to convince me, I'm not going to convince you (it seems), and the status quo will remain until there is a consensus to change, which does not seem likely in the short term. It's time to move on, rather than continue flogging this particular dead horse. - SchroCat (talk) 07:44, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

Do you even think I want to start an argument? Hall no, I'm just giving evidence of Metacritic's poor amount of reviews put on the site. If you think this escalated into an argument, you're over your head. I've started to forget about this edit war, but this only came to my head when I thought of past reviews I saw on the site. I didn't just say what I did to start an argument. I've been wanting to go about this in a peaceful manner. And I'm thinking you would go about this in a peaceful manner, right? - Theironminer (talk), 15:02, 13 August, 2014 — Preceding undated comment added 15:01, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

I think you're missing the point and getting all het up over nothing more than a turn of phrase - and I have no idea how you think this means I am "over my head". I've changed one word you are struggling with so that it's a bit more obvious for you. The rest remains exactly the same: this is going nowhere as you have not come up with any line of argument discussion that suggests we should be doing anything different here. - SchroCat (talk) 15:10, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

This is what I see. English Wikipedia is listed. Not sure why other language articles are not showing. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 21:34, 11 January 2016 (UTC)
