Kinik are Oghuz Turks not the modern Turkmen people edit
Can someone please look at this matter as Kinik is a tribe part of Oghuz turks of which the modern turkmen people are part of but to say Kinik was Turkmen is entirely wrong and the names should be referenced towards Oghuz Turks article. Kami2018 (talk) 17:05, 5 March 2020 (UTC)

Kınık (tribe) → Qiniq (tribe) – Qiniq is the common name in English. Kınık simply is Turkish. Beshogur (talk) 15:47, 18 May 2021 (UTC)

- Reluctant support was initially going to refuse on grounds of lazy proposal. https://www.google.co.uk/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=K%C4%B1n%C4%B1k+tribe&num=10 but am swayed by Routledge going with Qiniq. In ictu oculi (talk) 22:11, 19 May 2021 (UTC)
- @In ictu oculi: these are mostly Turkish sources. Beshogur (talk) 12:45, 20 May 2021 (UTC)
