Self Translated Non-English Sources

edit

It appears the user:nlu who created this article (and a number of other Göktürk ruler articles) also translated the content from Chinese sources. When I tried to categorize it as Category:Turkic rulers the same user removed my category entry and insited on his/her POV eventhough there is no concrete rule for building hierarchies of categories. Source material is dubious and this user is acting as if he/she owns the article.--Nostradamus1 (talk) 00:23, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's not based on my POV; it's based on WP:CAT. You haven't shown any good reason to deviate with the guideline there. It's not that the Göktürks weren't Turkic (they clearly are); it's that Category:Göktürk rulers are already a subcategory of Category:Turkic rulers. I will repeat: WP:CAT indicates that absent extraordinary good cause, an article should not belong to a category and its subcategory. --Nlu (talk) 00:30, 4 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
