Stories and Legends about Dolgov's death edit

The story that Dolgov died a few weeks before Gagarins historic flight in April 1961, when he was testing the exit system inside a Wostok space capsule which was ejected from an aircraft in 10 000 m altitude, can also be read in DER SPIEGEL in 1973, in a reprint of a book about "Moscow's Secret Space Program". Can any of the experts on Soviet Space history, namely our Russian friends, comment on this story? Even in the Soviet Union, where many things were possible, nobody could die two times. Was this story a complete hoax, a product of Anti-Soviet western propaganda, or was there maybe another person who died during that experiment?
