Title

I don't think "engineering" is a good classification in the page title for this. It's a tool shared by many professions, some probably more prevalently than engineers. -71.207.221.21 (talk) 22:34, 13 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Agreed. I'm moving it to Punch (metalworking). --Wizard191 (talk) 07:35, 15 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

Typograpy/Nuismatics section

edit

I removed the following two sections because they are already listed in the disambig article for punches, plus they don't really flow with this article. If someone has a good reason why they should be in there then go ahead and put them back in.

Numismatics

edit

In numismatics, punches are used to create dies for coins.

Typography

edit

In typography, punches are used to create the matrices for type.

The result was merge. Wizard191 (talk) 19:35, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

The only difference between the articles is that one talks about applications of punches with respect to all workpieces and the other to just metal workpieces. They are used for the same reasons, but just one different materials. As such, I think they should be merged. Wizard191 (talk) 16:43, 7 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Tablet press punch image

edit

I have added the tablet press section. I'll be glad if someone can add an image. Maviozan (talk) 16:54, 4 October 2011 (UTC)Reply
