"the present day status of being amongst the best in Latin-America." I took it out b/c it simply shouldnt have been there in the first place. It would be really hard to prove that statement. You could probably find scholars for it, and probably even more that would mention other countries. Small example, Chile has two nobel prize winners. PR, none.

Edits to article

I corrected basic grammar and spelling mistakes and tried to make the article read better. The section titled Modern Puerto Rican literature needs more work. It looks like someone added it to the article without much thought as to how it complemented the rest of the article. This section does not maintain the implicit dialogue between island and U.S. Puerto Rican literature that the rest of the article proposes.--Lawrlafo (talk) 07:38, 6 July 2009 (UTC)

I have edited Puerto Rican literature#Modern Puerto Rican literature a little bit and added links to Wikipedia articles.--Lawrlafo (talk) 00:28, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
