Disambiguation page edit
Per discussions at Puducherry and Pondicherry (city) (see here), I've made the plain name Pondicherry a disambiguation page. Reviews of the incoming links shows considerable confusion between the various entities called (or formerly called) Pondicherry, so for now a disambiguation page will probably provide the best service to our readers. Discussion is likely to resume if and when it's decided the city article should be renamed to something involving the current name "Puducherry", as it will be ambiguous with the territory's article.Cúchullain t/c 13:17, 30 January 2013 (UTC)

- Pondicherry primary topic is Pondicherry (city). All the links in dab page are proxy only to that, all are named after that city. Nobody has any doubt in that, we are going back in time. Woodthought (talk) 05:43, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

- In going through the incoming links I've noticed that more are intending the city than other uses. However, it's nowhere near an overwhelming majority, and many of them are pretty hard to tell, especially when they're talking about historical French Pondicherry.
