  • ... that "leek rust", caused by Puccinia allii, is not combatable with any approved fungicide? Source: [1]
  • ALT1: ... that "leek rust", caused by Puccinia allii, has also caused significant losses for garlic farmers?

  • Comment 2: This is my first species article, so i've probably made quite a few glaring mistakes. my apologies in advance! I thought this was a pretty fun (and heart-wrenching) article to spend time on :)

  •   This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral, and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. The article looks fine to me but could do with an image. I inspected the leeks in my garden, but found no orange pustules on the leaves, although I have had the disease in the past. Plenty of brassica leafspot Alternaria brassicae however. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 11:43, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Cwmhiraeth: thanks for the speedy review! my leeky relatives do tend to come down with something an awful lot—tell cousin j. j. hello for me :) as for an image, I couldn't find a freely licensed one by google searching—is there a place you usually look? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/them) 20:52, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
    Not really. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 20:58, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
    gotcha, I'll see if I can't find something—thanks so much! theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/them) 21:03, 28 November 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Cwmhiraeth:   some new information added to the article by Esculenta contradicts the hook, so we'll need to iron out a new one. I proposed an ALT1, does it work for you? theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/she?) 18:53, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
The ALT1 hook should be fine, but before I give it a tick, you need to deal with the clarification tag. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:35, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
@Cwmhiraeth: as the mafia would say, it's been dealt with. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/she) 02:35, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

RHS claim edit

Article: "According to the Royal Horticultural Society, there are no fungicides approved for use by amateur gardeners to combat leek rust." I cannot see where this is stated on the cited web page (https://www.rhs.org.uk/disease/leek-rust). I see an introductory paragraph ("Leek rust is a common fungal disease of leeks and garlic, but also affects onions and chives. The fungus causes bright orange, raised spots (pustules) on leaves.") followed by a box of "quick facts", and a "Jump to" section of four downward-pointing arrows that are not functional (i.e., clicking them does not lead anywhere). Where precisely does it say ""There are no fungicides approved for use by amateur gardeners to control leek rust."? Esculenta (talk) 19:05, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

Esculenta: I took a screenshot of the article with the beginning of that sentence highlighted, i see it here theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/she?) 19:08, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Well, I am denied access to that Google drive, but generally speaking, it is a problem if we aren't seeing the same thing on the web page. Perhaps it would be a good idea to confirm if others can verify this fact on that page? Esculenta (talk) 19:15, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sorry, my mistake—you should have access now. I'm happy to ask others, as well. theleekycauldron (talkcontribs) (they/she?) 19:22, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Ok thanks, I see it now. It seems those downward pointing arrows work on your browser, but not on mine (I tried both Safari and Chrome). Esculenta (talk) 19:25, 9 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
