That might be true. However, Martialis was the equivalent of the modern senior NCO of a unit -- a sergeant major of a battalion or larger. And senior NCOs are not inherently notable. (Unlike, arguably, generals.) -- llywrch (talk) 19:47, 18 April 2016 (UTC)Reply
