I have removed the following citation used to support the claim that Andrelinus was a mediocre scholar: "Erasmus, Dia regnavit Lutetia 1519, following Andrelini's death."[1] The quote, which should read diu regnavit Lutetiae (long did he rule at Paris), addresses Andrelinus' long tenure at Université de Paris rather than his mediocrity, about which there seems to be some agreement. - The letter of Erasmus to Paulus Bombasius dated 26 July 1518 makes no mention of Andrelinus' mediocrity. It says only that Andrelinus had died among the "Gauls" after a long tenure at Paris (periit et apud Gallos Faustus...quorum alter diu regnavit Lutetiae) Latin English. The source is misrepresented (and misspelled), and I have removed it a second time. There are plenty of sources that speak of Andrelinus' average intellect: this is not one.
