Publics vs demographics,audience or market

edit

I wonder if the word "publics" should be deliberately related to a more modern word such as "demographic" or market segment, those these more modern concepts do not convey the active meaning "knowledgeable group" (or caucus). Lexein (talk) 23:07, 19 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

"Demographic" has a different meaning that is more associated with biographical details and statistical catagories rather than political engagement. This sounds more like a community of interest, lobby, or bloc. It's hard to tell from a single-source stub with no examples though. Wikipedia isn't a dictionary and this article is barely adequate for that. All these years without expansion makes me wonder if this article has a public.
