Date of redrawn map?

Are we sure that it's 15th century? The lettering seems at least 300 years older than that, if not 400 to me. -- Michael Scott Cuthbert (talk) 13:43, 20 July 2013 (UTC)

• Is this article about this single image? Move it to "Totius Orbis Habitabilis Brevis Descriptio" (its title), "A Brief Description of the Entire Habitable World" (its translated title), or Harleian MS 7182 (its work) or Harley MS 7182 (a variant name of its work).
• Is this article about the view of the world presented by Ptolemy's work in all its forms? Move it to Ptolemaic projection or Ptolemaic map projections.
• Is this article about Ptolemy's geographic knowledge and locations? Merge its content with the article on Ptolemy's Geography.
• Alternatively, move it to Geography (Jacobus Angelus) and start an article there on his specific surviving MSS of Ptolemy (including both Harleian MS 7182 and Harleian MS 7195).

Regardless, this page shouldn't exist. This is no "Ptolemaic world map": there are only (various) mediaeval maps reconstructed from Ptolemy's rediscovered text, for which we have a separate article. — LlywelynII 06:36, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

Not Hellenistic

The Hellenistic period is generally understood to have ended with the rise of the Roman empire, so it's anachronistic to refer to the 2nd century AD as Hellenistic. Mpaniello (talk) 16:31, 10 March 2021 (UTC)
