What are some criticisms of the topic of pseudoextinction? Annikahille (talk) 04:02, 24 January 2020 (UTC)Reply

Criticisms? Pseudoextinction is essentially the "old age" of a species, except the change is far more gradual than that of an individual death. Because conditions inevitably change, and because evolution tends toward continued adaptation via reproductive success of better-adapted traits, every species that survives long enough will eventually evolve into another form. So, the only "criticism" would be that pseudoextinction is universal. Any species that avoids total extinction ("total" being a simple die-out with a final individual at some point), will inevitably phase out another way by evolving into something else.
