I think we should remove this line from the article on Provost (education). This article is more narrowly focused because of the Disambiguation of the word Provost. It doesn't make sense that it would have to mentioned in an article about the job Provost and why it's related to education.

"It is also the title of the Dean of certain cathedrals within the Church of England (such as Southwark Cathedral)."

I hope you agree. Edit it if you do...

Regarding Eton edit

May I suggest that the author of this page looks at some of the references to a provost at Eton College, as they might confuse readers? In one place the provost is the chair of governors; in another, the provost is referred to as the head. 197.232.84.164 (talk) 05:57, 26 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
