Talk:Protracted social conflict

Untitled edit

This is completely wrong, The situation with the tamils has changed. Does that mean the entire article needs revision? The military destroyed the tigers, ending the insurgency, thus the thrust of that section of the article is completely countered by reality. How can we discredit/adjust the basic premiss?

the article needs some work edit

This article doesn't quite seem to know whether it's a general article about intractable/protracted conflict or an advertisement for Azar's theory. That's quite understandable given Wikipedia's still lacking a general article (which IMHO has even more priority than cleaning up this one), so I'm just mentioning it in case someone later comes by and would like to do some work. Thanks in advance! --Ibn Battuta (talk) 07:28, 5 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have added some text and references to Mitchell, Cummins, Rouhana, Rid & Hecker. I hope this does not interfere with your assignment. You can probably use these references, and you are welcome to elaborate further on this. Agnerf (talk) 09:51, 6 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm going to be doing some work on this article for a class edit

Hi all! I don't know if anyone is keeping tabs on this article, but I'm going to be adding to and updating some of the information for a class, and possibly doing some restructuring of the format. Right now, I'm going to add a little information to the "Resolving protracted social conflict" section about the STAR model. Grackle.cackle (talk) 03:30, 3 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi all, just wanted to update with my current plans--
Generally, I'm going to restructure the article to make it more of a general entry for protracted social conflict and less of an advertisement for Azar specifically, per Ibn Battuta's observation. In doing this, I'm also going to be adding more recent information about the topic from other scholars and will be expanding the section that centers on examples of protracted social conflict. I'll also be adding links to this article from other wikipedia articles. I don't intend to remove any information currently present unless it is not correct or needs to be updated, but i will be adding citations to currently uncited material.
