Apostolic Catholic Church edit

As pointed out by one user in the History track of this article, the Apostolic Catholic Church is not a protestant denomination. And indeed this is so because what distinguishes Protestantism from the Roman Catholic Church are the solas of the Reformation such as the doctrines of sola fide and sola scriptura. These are the very doctrines that caused the break between the Roman Church and the Reformed Church. Furthermore present-day Protestant Churches are those that can trace its origins to the Reformation. Insofar as the Apostolic Catholic Church is concerned, history is bereft of any indication that it is one of those that have descended from the early Reformers. What is apparent is that it adheres to traditional Roman Catholic teachings such as Marian Devotion and the use of the rosary in prayer[1] albeit the fact that it does not recognize the supremacy of the Pope. The same also applies to the Philippine Independent Church. I suggest that we remove these groups from the list. As an alternative, we can have them listed in a "See also" section. Thus far, no objection has been raised on the above suggestion. I am proceeding with its implementation. Thinkinggecko (talk) 13:21, 4 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
No objection to the removal but not all Protestant Churches are "Reformed" (i.e. Calvinist) nor do they all accept "sola fide" and "sola scriptura". See for instance Anglicanism. --Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 14:08, 5 March 2020 (UTC)Reply

List clean-up edit

The list of denominations needs to be pared back to only the most significant of denominations and megachurches. Remember Wikipedia is WP:Not a directory. Also we could use a chart of denominations, years founded and membership estimates. --Iloilo Wanderer (talk) 02:10, 5 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
