Ideology edit

Should liberalism be listed under the party's ideology yet? From what I can tell based on the cited BBC article, it only says its economic outlook will be more liberal than its predecessor, not necessarily liberal overall. That could mean it has moderated into social democracy territory from a more socialist or protectionist outlook (or it could be a slightly more interventionist form of liberalism like social liberalism), and judging by the fact it appears Abiy said in his book that the government should intervene in strategic industries (which tends to violate principles of hands-off kinds of liberalism) and that applying liberalism overall seems to be the wrong approach (although he states that completely statist or socialist approaches are off-limits as well), this appears to be the case. Appart from the partys minor predecessors which are mostly minority interests-parties, the three larger predecessors were all democratic socialists, with the Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement being both DemSoc and social democratic and with Abiy's Oromo Democratic Party having clear marxist roots, furthermore they were part of a coalition supporting revolutionary democracy, which is seemingly inspired by more radical marxist thought. I refuse to think that a new party with such roots simply turns liberal out of the blue, much rather i would expect them to be between DemSoc and SocDem to some degree! Propaganda edit

This article has a clear problem of anonymous users from Ethiopia inserting biased or downright false propagandistic claims, in pretty bad English may I add, to advance their political agenda (presumably pro-TPLF?). Also, various IPs contribute the same information with the exact same wording, so this is clearly a concerted effort. May I suggest a semi-protection? 62.74.23.243 (talk) 13:46, 29 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
