Progenote

Previous article deletion in 2009

edit

The previous deletion of this article in 2009 was, at best, hasty, and for the wrong reasons. Clearly, not everyone knows what a "progenote" is or means, and it is useful to have an article on this. The main purpose of Wikipedia is to be an encyclopedia and Wikipedia's organizational advantage over a "paper" encyclopedia is the WIKILINK...the power of the reader to decide whether to go off on a tangent, obtain background information on a topic, visit a similar topic, or keep reading.

I note that the prior article was deleted with NO VOTE but only an "expired prod." This is disingenuous. Often, technical/scientific articles lack the heavy visitation one might see on the Justin Bieber article page, but importance is NOT measured by popularity with the masses. An article that discusses the evolution of cellular life is certainly more than worthy of inclusion on Wikipedia.

Further, the deleter claimed that the information in the article could be found elsewhere...but failed to include a "merge" or "redirect" to accommodate a user who wishes to find out more information about this topic. Given that history, an article re-start is definitely worth a shot.Ryoung122 23:49, 13 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
