Gophers edit

I think it may be a good idea to split up the type of golfers. I noticed when typing in golfers I get redirected to this page. I recommend creating a "golfer" page with two sub categories, 'Professional Golfers' and 'Amateur Golfers' (amateur's being those following the USGA rules for being an amateur (not accepting money, etc.). In the golfer article, we can mention a golfer is someone who plays golf on a golf course, a pro golfer is someone who plays golf for a living, an amateur golfer is a golfer playing competitively not accepting winning money, sponsorships, etc. (i.e. an NCAA golfer). Thoughts? Chupper 20:34, 8 March 2006 (UTC)Reply

I think "golfer" used to link to list of golfers. I agree there should be an article about amateur golf, though it should not be couched entirely in American terminology. The USGA and the NCAA don't matter much in Australia or about 240 other countries. I don't think this article needs to change, or rather little if anything needs to be taken out - more could be added of course.ReeseM 03:20, 18 March 2006 (UTC)Reply
